Purpose: Heavy duty bench mount synclastic tool. Designed to handle
heavy metal (up to 16 gauge), extra-wide (up to 28 millimeter / 1-1/16") or high
volume metal work. The resulting diameter is approximately 4 inches and can be
reduced on a mandrel. Full width metal may "wrinkle" a small amount along
the edges during initial forming but these can easily be smoothed out. Metal should
be dead soft (annealed) before forming. For strips greater than 1 inch wide,
sometimes two passes are preferred - the first pass gently starting the shape, the second
pass completing it. The black cap on the ball ensures your resulting metal is
smooth. Remove the cap if you prefer a rippled, hand made look. |
